Leave the leaves

A little late this year perhaps, but leaf season is almost upon us. What to do with all of them? Montgomery County will give you a free large-capacity compost bin just for the asking. Or if you just want to rake your leaves to the curb, the county starts their Leaf Collection Program on November 5th. Watch for signs in your neighborhood for specific dates.
Update: The county now says that “limited service” will begin November 5th with full service beginning November 13th:
Starting Monday, November 5, limited collection will beginning in areas that are currently posted. County collection crews will target the few piles in those areas, and return on Tuesday, November 13 to begin full scale collection operations. The dates on currently posted signs will be changed to reflect the new full-scale start date of November 13.
