Purple Line public meeting at BCC High

November 18th, 2007

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will be holding public meetings on the Purple Line Study. The Purple Line is a proposed 16-mile rapid transit line extending from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George’s County. The goal is to provide faster, more reliable transit service options, and better connections to Metro.

Help design a project that best serves your community! Give MTA your feedback on:

  • Ridership and travel time projections
  • Cost estimates
  • Updated alignment mapping
  • Project schedule

The Purple Line public meeting location closest to Maplewood is Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at the BCC High School Cafeteria, 4301 East-West Hwy. from 5 PM to 8:30 PM.

However, some say that these open houses are more of a public relations tour and don’t supply much hard information to the general public, especially ridership studies. See See David Lublin’s Maryland Politics Watch for a critique of the process.
