Special message from the President on an important event
Allen M October 5th, 2009
This Thursday, October 8th, shortly after 9 AM, the Montgomery County Planning Board will meet to determine the recommendation it will make to the County Council’s Hearing Examiner regarding the rezoning application by the FAES. Even though you may not desire to speak at this hearing, a large turnout of Maplewood residents will demonstrate to the Planning Board the high level of neighborhood concern and involvement regarding this issue.
The rezoning application is the second agenda item in a meeting which begins at 9 AM. You should plan to arrive as close to that time as possible, as it is difficult to predict how fast the board will deal with the item that precedes the FAES matter. The address is 8787 Georgia Avenue, at the corner of Spring Street in downtown Silver Spring. Metered parking – both short and long term – is available behind the building. Please bring adequate change as we may not be through until 11 AM or noon.
Traveling on Spring Street from Bethesda, cross Georgia Avenue, continue on Spring Street as it curves to the right, and look for the parking entrance on the right. (See this map for complete driving directions from Maplewood.)
I hope to see a large contingency from Maplewood at this meeting. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thank you for attending the meeting on this important issue.
